Greetings Dell Customer Care, I have a Dell XPS 8300 and seem to have missed the recall notice for the Sandy Bridge motherboard replacement in 2011 soon after I purchased this desktop. I have Express Tag #. I discovered this whole issue when trying to add in a new SATA drive or use the ESATA interface. Install Windows or Linux on your Dell PC using the USB recovery key.
Click Start or Downgrade (if you are returning to a previous version of the application). Complete the instructions on screen. Deleting applications: 1. When Dell brought the XPS brand back recently with the new XPS 14, 15 and 17-inch laptops, a small wrong was righted; Dell mentioned that users had been clamoring for them to bring back the XPS brand for years. In fact, the new XPS 8300 looks like the final nail in Dell's Studio-branded coffin.

The less great news? It's just the Studio XPS, with the Studio removed. In fact, if you look at the Dell Studio XPS 8100, you'll find the two machines to be essentially identical. The only noticeable differences (based on the press images) is the XPS logo. That's not a bad thing, however, as the Studio XPS desktops are extremely stylish machines with solid build quality.
With a starting price of $749, Dell is looking to be one of the cheapest possibilities for buying into Intel's next-generation Sandy Bridge platform; cheapest, that is, until the dual-core chips hit their rumored March availability timeframe.
